Awaken your Zen…retreat day at Chiddingstone Castle

A new wellbeing event will take place in the wonderfully relaxing setting of Chiddingstone Castle on Saturday 1 February 2020 between 9.45 am and 5.00 pm.

Chiddingstone Castle is home to a magnificent collection of rare Japanese antiques and the Castle is extending its love of this magical culture by hosting a wellness day.

The event is a collaboration of four different approaches to mindfulness consisting of Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing), Kanga Yoga, Toyohari (Japanese acupuncture) and meditation. There will also be food and drink wellness advice and the day includes a delicious locally sourced lunch with a Japanese twist.

Zen is a type of Japanese Buddhism which emphasises peaceful ‘zazen’ or meditation practices. It focuses on learning to slow down, appreciating the beauty of nature and simplicity, and listening to your inner voice more clearly. This nourishing one day retreat is a celebration of Japanese culture and the art of Zen.

The retreat is the perfect start to the new year whether you are looking to turn over a new leaf in 2020 or just enjoy being outdoors.

The day will mark the beginning of Chiddingstone Castle’s ‘Year of Japan’ – a series of Japan inspired cultural events and activities in celebration of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

For more details about the day itself and the programme of activities please view on the Castle’s website www.chiddingstonecastle.org.uk/awaken-your-zen-retreat-day/
