Family shows at The Assembly Hall Theatre

There are a range of fantastic family oriented show son at The Assembly Hall Theatre throughout the rest of 2019.

On Saturday 17 August, Peppa Pig: My First Concert sees Peppa Pig, along with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and George, provide a fun, interactive introduction to a live orchestra for ages 18 months and older.

Peppa and George learn all about the different sounds that instruments make together and enjoy some of their favourite music from the show played by an orchestra as well as discovering some other exciting orchestral pieces perfect for children. Little ‘piggies’ can join in with Peppa and her family, and make music of their own!

The first of the Horrible Histories series sees Awful Egyptians come to the Assembly Hall from Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 October.

Step back to an awfully ancient time when pharaohs were phoul (!), servants suffered and everyone believed in an awesome afterlife.

It is time to prepare yourselves for an amazing show with Horrible Histories live on stage! Using actors and groundbreaking 3D special effects, this astounding show is guaranteed to thrill all who attend. Historical figures and events will come alive on stage!

From the fascinating Pharaohs to the power of the pyramids, discover the foul facts of death and decay with the meanest mummies in Egypt. Are you ready to rumble with Ramesses the Great? Dare you enter through the Gates of the Afterlife? It is the history of Egypt with the nasty bits left in!

If you need a bit more ‘Horrible’, then Horrible Histories also offers Terrible Tudors from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 October.

From the horrible Henries to the end of evil Elizabeth (actually I rather liked here!), hear the legends (and the lies!) about the torturing Tudors. Find out the fate of Henry's headless wives and his punch up with the Pope. Meet Bloody Mary and see Ed fall dead in his bed! Survive the Spanish Armada as it sails into the audience!

If that is not enough to keep you entertained, then the annual thigh slapping, he’s behind you season kicks into gear with Peter Pan as this year’s pantomime.

From Saturday 7 December to Sunday 5 January 2020, meet Peter and the lost boys, Tiger Lily and Tinker Bell and get ready for a family show full of fun, fairy dust and pirates galore. Set sail for Neverland and take on Captain Hook and prepare for out of this world flying effects, galleons of laughter and the hungriest of crocodiles.

There are Relaxed performances for those with sensory sensitivity on Tuesday 10 December 10.30 am and Monday 30 December 5.00 pm.
