Enjoy Mother’s Day at the Spa Valley Railway

Visit the Spa Valley Railway on Mothering Sunday – 31 March – to enjoy either morning coffee or cream tea.

Mothering Sunday morning coffee

What better way to start your day than with a morning coffee on the 10:20 steam train service from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge. Travel through the glorious High Weald countryside from the comfort of the beautifully decorated bar car 'Kate' whilst enjoying a hot cup of tea or coffee along with a selection of Danish pastries, croissants and biscuits. Before taking the train why not arrive a little early and take a look around the Victorian engine shed!

Upon arrival at Eridge passengers can alight briefly and see the steam locomotive before taking the heritage diesel locomotive back to Tunbridge Wells West. The train will arrive back at approximately 11:40 am.

Tickets are valid for travel all day which means, after enjoying your 10:20 round trip, you can stay on board. Perhaps take the 12:00 service back down the line to explore some of the places along the line including High Rocks and Groombridge.

Mothering Sunday ploughman's lunch train

Travel on the 13:40 heritage diesel train service to Eridge and enjoy a Ploughman's Lunch on the move! See the glorious High Weald countryside from the comfort of the beautifully decorated coaches whilst enjoying a freshly prepared ploughman's lunch with a choice of home baked ham, mature cheddar cheese or aubergine and courgette with tomato marinade (vegan) ploughman's.

Upon arrival at Eridge passengers can alight briefly and see the impressive steam locomotive which will be taking everyone back to Tunbridge Wells West. The train arrives back at 15:05.

Tickets are valid for travel all day which means you can travel on any train before or after the ploughman's lunch.

Mothering Sunday cream tea

Have a fabulous afternoon travelling by steam train and one of the railway’s Heritage Diesels between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge. Cream teas include two scones, clotted cream, jam and pot of tea all served in the comfort of the beautifully decorated bar car 'Kate'. Adults £18, Children £12.

The train leaves at 15:20. At Eridge Station passengers can choose to alight briefly and take a closer look at the steam locomotive which will be taking everyone back up the hill to Tunbridge Wells West. The train arrives back at approximately 16:40.
