Apple and Cider Fayre at Kent Life
Join the team at Kent Life in Maidstone for the Apple and Cider Fayre on 6 and 7 October 2018 to celebrate the annual apple harvest when many varieties of apple are hand picked from the historic orchards just days before the festival.
Visitors can try and buy from around 35 varieties of apple on sale and interestingly some of the apple varieties date back as far as the 1500s! After choosing which apples to take home don’t forget to pick up a free apple cookbook featuring some delicious old fashioned favourites.
Visitors can also enjoy live music tours and demonstration, Morris dancing and children’s apple crafts. Also watch the traditional process of apple pressing when fresh apples are cut, crushed, pulped and then squeezed in a giant Victorian press to produce the most delicious apple juice.
On Saturday, listen to some great live music by Harry Bo, Nick Woods, Frankie Swain, Frank Statesboro and Niamh McSmith.
On Sunday, Harry Bo and Frankie Swain, Nick Woods and Frank Statesboro will be back together with additional performances by Tom and Nicky.
Nick Woods, who performs on both days, has played at some famous London nightspots including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. Nick makes amazing use of a loop pedal and harmonies to create a fantastic live sound and atmosphere.
Frankie Swain, who also plays on both days over the weekend, is an alt-folk singer songwriter based in London. Frankie performs around London and the south east and with her distinctive sound, paired with her raw emotive voice she has earned her an ever growing fan base.
Niamh McSmith is a Kent based singer songwriter. Taking inspiration from artists such as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Ed Sheeran, and RaeLynn, Niamh’s music speaks of her real life experiences and of the people around her.
A visit to the fayre wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Cider Tent to sampling a cider or two or even a cider cocktail from some of Kent’s best cider suppliers.
New this year will be performances by cheeky and quick witted Basil Brush who will also be entertaining visitors of all ages in the Big Top.
Everyone can also enjoy all the Kent Life favourites from Cuddle Corner to Tractor Rides.
